It seems that I cannot open a browser or social media page without some reference to women in technology companies these days.  On one hand, it seems like we are not making the traction we had hoped in the workplace.  On the other hand, the attention and momentum to create corporate cultures that effectively embrace differences while minimizing negative interactions with sexual undertones are brewing in all types of companies and industry.

Although bringing this forward is not easy but the brave have continued to push people and organizations in new ways.  As far as I can tell, change is happening and Tech Savvy Women is thrilled to be part of it!

Megan Tomaszewski, a reporter for The Hamburg Sun, recently interviewed me for a feature piece in The Sun news. Much of our discussion revolved around advance women in the workplace with a focus on women in tech.  It is no surprise that women in tech and girls in STEM create heighten interest in any community.  With this important focus that The Sun news led with Tech Savvy Women this week.  YAHOO!!!

Women in tech, their value, the need for diversity, the wage gap, their contributions – these are all important messages.  It is an honor to be recognized for our work that helps retain, advance, and recruit tech talent.   With first-hand experience, a diverse work force is important for employees and companies that are striving to meet the needs of their customers and partners.
